A sandwich is a position with the leader’s feet on both sides of a follower’s foot. The follower will be facing the leader with one foot extended with little or no weight on it. The sandwich typically occurs following a parada or barrida.
Common terms in Spanish are el sandwich, el sandwichito, el sanguche, or el sanguchito.
A common sandwich sequence is:
- From back ochos, the leader’s right foot paradas the outside of the follower’s left foot.
- Leader’s left foot sandwiches the follower’s left foot.
- Leader’s right foot crosses behind their left.
- The follower’s right is led to a stepover/pasada.
You will see additional variations in the following videos.
