Needs to be filled in
In a calecita the leader circles around the pivoting follower. Here are some brief notes on variations.
- Clockwise or counterclockwise.
- Leader walking forward or backward.
- Follower on axis or apilado (leaning together).
- Follower leg position: Eg, with feet together, eg in a cruzada, or with the free leg extended on the floor, …
- The follower’s weight is on one foot. If in apilado position, the follower should lift their upper chest up and lean against the leader’s right side.
- Follower can switch to pivot on other foot in the middle of move.
Getting into Calecita
TBD
Exiting Calecita

Questionable moves
- Two foot swivel. The calecita can be done with both follower’s feet on the floor and swivel as the calecita turns. If starting with feet crossed, can swivel about 180. Kim and Lee demoed this starting and ending with volcada. It looks good, but I don’t see how this can be led except when a couple expects it because of previous dancing context.
